My name is Rachel. Most of my furry friends know me as Jade Bleufox. I am 20 years old and I have been drawing ever since I could hold a pencil to paper.

I live in NE Louisiana in a small farming/industrial town.

I didn't really get the chance to enhance my artistic ability until I was 10 years old when I was placed in to a school that had concentrations in Arts and Sciences. I took art all 4 years there from the 5th grade to the 8th.

When I reached high school, my artistic ability was able to bloom more. I had a wonderful teacher. She encouraged all of her students to do their best, and I did. She showed us the basics of course, but she also taught us some things that wasn't taught to me before: Colored Pencil Shading. Its like color blending but somewhat different. Its hard to explain.

After I graduated high school in 2005, I attended ULM in the College of Arts and Sciences that following Fall, where I went in as a art major. Sadly, I had to stop and change directions because I couldn't see myself doing a hobby as a career. I wasn't used to being so over loaded with projects when I had no ideas.

So, for over a year, I didn't draw at all. I was later diagnosed with depression and had to be put on medication. It had consumed my life. I had lost all interest in everything, including art. Through all this, my mate (fiancee) Kevin, was with me. He encouraged me to do my best and be myself.

This past year, I started drawing again. Finding new friends along the way.

And I hope to make more in the times ahead. Art is not just part of my life....it is my life.
